Peppermint oil has a wide variety of uses. I first used when pregnant to alleviate indigestion, something I had never before experienced. I was completely averse to taking any type of over the counter medication at that time and was honestly shocked at how quickly a few drops of mint alleviated my symptoms. Then I started putting it on my pulse points or taking a few whiffs here and there. The smell has the ability to immediately take you to another realm. Highly recommend for an all around excellent introduction to essential oils.
In addition to alleviating symptoms with a wide range of digestive issues including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and nausea, it also helps with the common cold and headaches. Peppermint can be used topically for relief from itching, muscle pain, and headache.
